The more I read about all the action of the anonymous affiliation (I don’t consider it a group per se) the more I can respect their ideals.
I just have a few issues that keep my skepticism active. First, there is a lot of talk about revolution and anarchy. The problem I see is that when it comes to human nature, there will always be leaders and followers (Confucianism). Not everyone is meant to lead, just add not everyone is meant to follow.
Our current system isn’t perfect, but what is the alternative? We as hackers should know that the best way to change a system is from inside. The security vulnerabilities that have been forced into the light were necessary and I commend you for your efforts. The masses were blind. Now that they have open eyes, what’s next? Anarchy? That just leaves the sharks to prey on the weak, unless I’m missing a party if the puzzle… I could be.
Why don’t we put our efforts towards getting younger, tech savvy representatives into congress? The types that know the technology to make informed and educated decisions for tech policy. Is that to far fetched?
Just a thought. This isn’t meant as a flaming towards anyone. Change the system from within. Isn’t that what we as hackers do?
Avoid rather than check Check rather than hurt Hurt rather than maim Maim rather than kill. For all life is precious Nor can it ever be replaced.
